Common Fire Sprinkler Violations
Every building is unique, and that means every fire suppression system is equally unique. That means your inspection and violation removal services need to be tailored to your exact needs. However, the changes in codes and adjustments over time mean certain violations are more common than others. For example, in 2004 New York passed sweeping legislation known as Local Law 26 that required a huge number of buildings to make major changes to their fire suppression systems. While buildings had 15 years to complete these changes, this same rule is the source of a number of violations even today.
We can remove any type of violation in your system, including:
- Insufficient fire sprinkler clearance
- Hanging items from fire sprinklers and piping
- Incorrect fire sprinklers for the property type
- Blocked valves and connection points
- Improper or out-of-date fire extinguishers
- Improper signage, including color coding violations
In addition to offering violation removal, we also offer maintenance, testing, and inspection services for your sprinklers. That includes for five-year test—a major test that is performed with a fire department official present. Standard Fire Protection has the required licenses and ratings from the New York City Department of Buildings, and can conduct these tests and handle corrections that may be needed in the aftermath of the test.
