How often does a fire alarm need to be tested?
NFPA 72 and the NYC Fire Code require the system to be inspected and tested at least annually, with some components checked more often. We schedule the work and keep the records.
What causes false alarms?
Common causes include dirty or aging detectors, detectors in the wrong location, construction dust and wiring faults. We find the cause and fix it, instead of just resetting the panel.
Can you upgrade an older fire alarm system?
Yes. We design and install upgrades and retrofits, often keeping usable devices to reduce cost and disruption.
